Fancy Dress plays a huge part in the event. During the parade the hundreds of flame-bearing Guizers dress-up in anything from the more obvious Viking costume to Men in Drag costumes. This event is now sometimes referred to and nicknamed as "Transvestite Tuesday" due to the sheer amount of men dressing-up as women in the parade and in the watching crowds in recent years.
All fancy dress is welcome at Up-Helly-Aa and at Jokers' Masquerade there are thousands of costumes to choose from. Regardless of whether you are looking for the more traditional Viking costumes or to participate in "Transvestite Tuesday" have a good look for what we have to offer.

We here at Jokers' Masquerade Fancy Dress were sat watching our favourite act on X Factor this past Saturday night, when we noticed our very own Adult Mallow Man Costume busting a groove with John and Edward to the Ghostbusters song. The exclusive to Jokers Mallow Man costume stole the show with some great body popping in the background of the twins prancing around. John and Edward were in the last two when it came to the results show, Lucie Jones was the favourite to go through but after Louis stayed loyal to his group and Simon Cowell decided to put it to deadlock and let the public votes decide, the twins were through to the next round and a tearful Lucie Jones was going home.

Halloween was an extremely busy time for Jokers' Masquerade again this year but we managed to keep up with demand and get your orders out to you quickly. This year there must have been more Halloween themed parties and less just fancy dress parties around the Halloween weekend. In past years Ghostbuster themed costumes have hogged the top spots of the sales charts but the exclusive to Jokers' Masquerade fancy dress Mallow Man Costume was the only Ghostbuster themed outfit to stay top of the charts.

Nigel Smith has joined Jokers' Masquerade Fancy dress and will be providing new and innovative graphics for the website and getting involved in the many exciting print requirements, from brochures to direct mail literature. We are all excited to have such a talented and experienced designer to work with.
Nigel says "It will be my job to visualise all the new ideas generated with the Jokers' Masquerade team and I'm looking forward to getting started!"

We had a visit from Maggie Philbin at BBC radio Berkshire this morning who did a few live outside broadcasts on the Andrew Peach radio show covering the postal strikes, fancy dress and the Halloween season in general.
Here are a few links to other media outlets who have picked up the story of our plight with Royal Mail and how we refuse to pass the cost of sourcing a courier service onto our customers.
