Leatherface is the star of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies and is inspired by notorious serial killer Ed Gein, who wore the skin of his victims. Leatherface is portrayed as "severely mentally retarded" and often uses a chainsaw and sledgehammer to slaughter his victims. He lives with his family who are often abusive and violent towards him.
