Surf's Up

Sea turtles swim up to 10,000 miles with their whole family every year. And the thing is, they swim every single one of those miles with a great attitude! Imagine the last road trip you took with your family. Now imagine that you did that road trip every year and it was 10,000 miles long. Thinking back, maybe we're doing this traveling thing all wrong. Maybe we'd all be a lot happier if we traveled by sea. We could see coral reefs and sunken ships. Bunk up on sun-soaked private beaches when we need a break. Until we overcome our less-than amphibious human limitations and swim hundreds of miles at a time, perhaps it's time we embrace our laid back sea turtle side in other ways. This color sea turtle costume is a great place to start!

Design & Details

This gorgeously detailed sea turtle costume is Made By Us, which means it was designed by our in-house team. The illustrated details were created by paying close attention to the sea turtle's actual pattern, making this a great pick for nautical nature enthusiasts. The costume features a jumpsuit that's hooded with a sculpted sea turtle head with large eyes at the very top. A large shell is attached to the back, sporting a bright patched pattern. The fins have slits so that you can hide your hands away easily to go into full-on turtle mode while the legs can be strapped onto whatever shoes you think work best to make this sea turtle costume into a complete, sea-ready disguise!

Riding the Wave

Are you excited about the prospect of getting a little closer to that laid-back sea turtle lifestyle? Just remember, the first step to your new turtle lifestyle is to go ahead and ride whatever waves that come your way! Surf's up, dude!

Questions & Answers

Q: My son is 5'2" and 195, what adult size should I order? (1 Answer)
Asked by Kid Mom | 18 October 2026
Monster Responds...
At 5'2" and 195 lbs, your son's chest and hip measurements will matter most here, so the Large or XL could work well depending on how he's built. The Large has a 47.5 inch chest and 54.5 inch hips, while the XL steps up to 51.5 inches and 58.5 inches. Have him measure his chest and hips and compare those numbers to the size chart to be sure.

Q: Hi, I'm 5ft 2 and a uk female size 8. Should I get the small or extra small?
Thanks. (1 Answer)
Asked by Antbcc | 16 October 2026
Monster Responds...
A UK size 8 is roughly a US size 4, which would land you close to the XS, with a 37.5 inch chest and a 52.75 inch jumpsuit length. At 5'2" the XS jumpsuit length of just under 53 inches could work nicely, and the Small at 53.5 inches is very close too. Compare your chest and torso measurements to the size chart to be sure which is the better fit for you.

Q: At 5’7 and 150 lb. What would be the right size? (1 Answer)
Asked by Mogwai | 15 October 2026
Monster Responds...
Height and weight alone don't tell us exactly how a costume fits, so your best guide is your chest measurement compared to our size chart. At 5'7" and 150 lb, the Small with a 39.5 inch chest and 53.5 inch jumpsuit length could be a good starting point, but measure your chest and compare it to the size chart to be sure.

Q: After shipping the costume has several prominent creases some even distort the shell outer edges how do i address this issue? (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 1 October 2026
Monster Responds...
Shipping creases in 100% polyester velour are very common and easy to fix. Hang the jumpsuit and shell in a steamy bathroom for 20 to 30 minutes, or use a garment steamer held a few inches away from the fabric, and the fibers will relax and the shell edges should smooth back out. For any stubborn spots on the shell, gently restuffing it through the back opening will help restore its shape.

Q: 5'6" and 210 lbs, large or extra large? (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 30 September 2026
Monster Responds...
At 5'6" and 210 lbs, the Large could work well, but the XL might give you a more comfortable fit. The Large measures 47½" in the chest and 54½" in the hips, while the XL opens up to 51½" in the chest and 58½" in the hips. Comparing those numbers against your own chest and hip measurements is the surest way to choose.

Q: Why doesn’t my shell stay round in form
(1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 25 September 2026
Monster Responds...
The shell is designed with an open back panel so you can stuff it yourself to get the shape and fullness you want. Adding more fiberfill or even crumpled newspaper will help it hold a rounder, more defined form throughout the night.

Q: What is the average grams of fibre stuffing/filling required for the shell please? (1 Answer)
Asked by Meryl | 11 May 2026
Monster Responds...
The shell is designed with an opening so you can stuff it yourself to your preferred fullness, and we don't specify a recommended amount of filling. A good starting point is to add fiberfill gradually until the shell holds the rounded shape you're happy with, since personal preference plays a big role in how full or flat you want it to look.

Q: Does the costume have pockets? (1 Answer)
Asked by sal | 21 October 2025
Monster Responds...
The jumpsuit doesn't include pockets. The front features a center zipper closure, and the fin-shaped sleeves have wrist openings so you can slip your hands out when you need them.

Q: I'm 6 foot 7, any chance I will for in the x-large costume? (1 Answer)
Asked by Ron | 2 June 2025
Monster Responds...
At 6'7", the XL's jumpsuit length of 57 1/4" and torso of 42 1/2" will likely run short on you, so fit may be snug depending on your proportions. Comparing your chest and hip measurements against the XL's 51 1/2" chest and 58 1/2" hips in our size chart is the best way to see how close it gets.

Q: How heavy is costume, can it fit in luggage on plane (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 12 February 2025
Monster Responds...
The costume weighs between about 59 and 74 ounces depending on the size, which is roughly 3.7 to 4.6 pounds. It's a soft polyester velour jumpsuit with fiberfill in the hood and shell, so it compresses well and should tuck into a checked bag without much trouble.

Q: Purchased this Absolutely LOVE it. But how much fill would you recommend for the shell? Also because the opening is at the bottom, what do you recommend to keep it from spilling out ? (1 Answer)
Asked by Nicole | 15 October 2024
Monster Responds...
So glad you're loving it! The shell opening is designed to let you stuff it however full you like, so there's no single right amount. A good starting point is enough fiberfill to give the shell a nicely rounded, dome-like shape without pulling on the back of the suit. For keeping the fill in place, a piece of felt, foam, or even a folded pillowcase tucked across the opening works really well as a simple barrier that holds everything inside.

Q: My son is 5. He fits the kid size medium, but the head on the turtle is too small for his head. My son does have a larger size head and my question is how much bigger is the head of the turtle on the adult XS? I know theres a good bit of difference in length, but if his head would fit the adult XS, I was hoping he could just wear clothes underneath since we live in a colder area anyways and it’s always cold on hallowing. (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 12 October 2024
Monster Responds...
The hood dimensions aren't something our size chart breaks out separately, so I can't give you a precise comparison between the kids' medium hood and the adult XS hood. What I can tell you is that the adult XS jumpsuit length is 52 3/4 inches, which is quite a bit longer than a kids' medium is designed for, so layering clothes underneath for warmth is a smart idea either way. Measuring your son's head at its widest point and reaching out to us would be the best way to get a confident answer on hood fit before you order.

Q: I’m 6ft tall, 185lbs female. I usually wear a large but have no idea how the length will be. Any thoughts? (1 Answer)
Asked by KC | 27 September 2024
Monster Responds...
At 6 feet tall, length is the key thing to check here. The Large has a jumpsuit length of 56½ inches, which measures from the shoulder-neck junction down to the ankle, and at your height that may run a bit short. The XL stretches that to 57¼ inches and also gives you a little more room through the chest and hips, so it could be the better fit for your frame. Comparing your own torso and full body measurements against our size chart is the surest way to decide between those two.

Q: On the size chart it says “jumpsuit length”. Is the jumpsuit length measured from the neck to the ground or from the top of the head to the ground? Is it possible to get the shell length and does that vary by costume size? (1 Answer)
Asked by Ana | 28 August 2024
Monster Responds...
Jumpsuit length is measured from the shoulder-neck junction down to the ankle, so it doesn't include the height of your head. For this costume, that measurement runs from 52 3/4" at the X-Small up to 57 1/4" at the X-Large, and yes, it does vary by size. The shell is attached to the back of the jumpsuit, so its length isn't a separate measurement we publish, but comparing your own shoulder-to-ankle length against those jumpsuit figures is the best way to gauge overall fit before you buy.

Q: Hi, ref the XL sizing of the Sea Turtle. I’m 6’2’; 18 stone optimistically, a sizeable
Chap, will it fit??
Thanks (1 Answer)
Asked by Jock | 28 August 2024
Monster Responds...
At 6'2" and 18 stone (roughly 252 lbs), the XL is worth a close look against the numbers. The XL jumpsuit measures 57¼" in length, 51½" chest, and 42½" torso, so the length should work well for your height. Your chest measurement is the key one to check here since the costume is a fitted velour jumpsuit with a front zipper, and if your chest comes in at or under 51½" you'd be in good shape for the XL.

Q: This may be a stupid question, but I can I sit down in the adult sea turtle costume? I am attending a costume party dinner. (1 Answer)
Asked by Jeffrey | 3 May 2024
Monster Responds...
As the shell is soft and able to be stuffed with as much material to make it comfortable you should be able to sit in it.

Q: Fantastic costume, wore it for a live action roll playing event. It was awesome, but of course it got quite dirty. What is the recommended method to wash it? Thanks! (1 Answer)
Asked by Jack Steel | 29 August 2022
Monster Responds...
Most of the time there's a tag with care instructions inside of the product. Otherwise, we recommend hand washing or spot cleaning and hanging it to dry. Please do not iron, instead, you would want to steam out wrinkles.
