Q: When measuring for size, is the "jacket waist" the actual width of the jacket? Or is this the child's waist measurement? The guide says to measure the child, but then the size chart seems to list the clothing item measurements, which are not the same thing.

The jacket waist is the actual measurement of the jacket itself, not your child's waist. To find the right size, measure your child's waist and choose the size whose jacket waist is closest to or a little larger than that number. For example, the Medium lists a 25" jacket waist, so a child with a waist around 24" to 25" would likely fit that size well.

The pricing difference for costumes in multiple sizes can be due to the amount of the inventory that we have.
Q: I am wondering about the costume sizes. What size would a small 10 year old wear?

Costume sizes are very different than regular clothing sizes, and do vary from costume to costume. The best way to order is by taking your measurements, add 3-4 inches to them for movement, and compare them to those listed on the product page. These are the EXACT measurements of the costume that we take right here in our warehouse. If you find that you are between sizes, we always recommend going with the size up!
