Picnic Perfection

We'd love to know the thought process behind the first person who tried a watermelon. Imagine looking at a plant that resembled a small striped blimp or an unusually symmetrical rock and thinking, "Maybe it's tasty on the inside!" Thank goodness for that unknown pioneer who discovered a perennially delicious picnic treat! A sweet and sugary watermelon wedge on a warm summer's day is exactly what anyone, young or old, most wants during cookouts, picnics, parties, and more.

Product Details

Your child will look good enough to eat when he or she wears this exclusive Watermelon Onesie Costume for Toddlers! The unisex jersey knit romper zips up the back and is printed all over with a pattern of watermelon seeds against a red background. A shell made of striped green jersey knit slides up the legs like a pair of high-waisted shorts and secures to the romper at the side seams. The matching striped hat is sewn with elastic for a secure fit and is decorated with a fabric vine and leaf.

Food for Thought

Remember that old wives' tale about watermelons? Several of us spent our childhoods worried about accidentally swallowing a seed and then having to deal with watermelons growing in our stomachs. Fortunately, we all know now that this simply isn't true (and who thought it was a good idea to suggest this notion to impressionable kids?) On the other hand, it's still possible to eat so much of something that you turn into it. If watermelon is your toddler's favorite fruit, the transformation could already be happening.
